Projects / Controlling Modtronix boards using an iTouch/iPad/iPhone
« on: September 27, 2010, 05:20:26 PM »
MrmrAts is a control software that uses the Wifi or Serial port of a iTouch/iPad or iPhone to control devices. This scripting software allows you to quickly build GUis and control scripts.

Note : iTouch/iPad or iPhone needs to be 'jailbreaked'

You can find many examples with all the sources where we use Modtronix boards (more projects will be added in a near future) at this address :

Ethernet Boards (8-bit) / Re: == SBC65EC/SBC68EC V3.10 Beta Firmware ==

For testing and debugging, I've used the TCP/IP Builder Tool written by Leandro H. Fernández.
This tool is perfect for testing raw udp and tcp connections.

The tool can be dowloaded at http://www.drk.com.ar/builder.php.

Please note that telnet isn't a raw, transparent  tcp protocol. A telnet session eg. starts by negotiating who should do echo'ing etc.

Thank you very much, I will check this software...

I would like to built an ethernet to serial converter (ex: like a telnet session with hyperterminal hooked on the network connector of SBC65 and Hyperterminal hooked to serial connector of SBC65 and be able to send strings between the 2 PCs)...

The first step I try to do is sending a simple command and see if it is send to the serial port like the web page says:

'It is possible to link Serial Port 1 or 2 with UDP Port 1 or 2. For example, when linking Serial Port 1 to UDP Port 1, than all data received via one bus will be sent to the other bus, and visa-versa.
To configure the serial buses, choose from the settings menu's on the left.'

I have loaded the v3.10, firmware + img files. ok up to this point.
Set UDP1 to USART1 in the webpage Busses configuration...

I have checked in the existing documentation and on the web for an example about how to send a UDP command and did not find.

I am looking for some references about that...since I am not a pro but just a hobbyist...

Thanks...

I tried to save the beta img file on the Modtronix website here (so I can download it with the net bootloader) :
http://www.modtronix.com/products/sbc65ec/firmware/websrvr65_v310beta2.img and got an error message.

It was ok with the hex file...

I also tried the network bootloader, was working fine with local adress 10.1.0.1 but did not work with DHCP enabled, the card is connected via a DLINK router. Cannot connect with the network bootloader but I can connect to the web server pages.

If somebody has the answer it woul be nice, thank you
