Programming / Which programmer to buy to find nasty PIC16F877A bug
« on: May 01, 2008, 06:52:17 AM »
Hi,

I buy PIC's from modtronix, so I use the bootloader, CCS compiler and lots of printf statements!

I attached an SD card to a SBC44B which works great 99.999% of the time.

I have spent over a year trying to find that .001% bug.

Q: Any suggestions on how to find it? What to buy and why?

thanks

MicroX Modules and SBC Boards / lcd you can see in the dark
« on: January 06, 2007, 08:37:49 AM »
I have several SBC44B dev kits and they are cool. I can't seem to get away from its cost effective functionality!

Q:  What can I buy/do/replace to make it so I can read the LCD in the dark?

(I know nothing about backlighting, etc)

For now, I have a flashlight pointing at it  :?

Am I SOL?

Thanks for any leads!

Is the Windows part of the SBC44B bootloader free?
If so, can someone give me the url so I can download it.

I am far from home, and I need it......
(didnt some guy in the netherlands write it open source??)

Hi,

I get a garbage char at the beginning and end of some strings.
For example:

"A0   A1   A3||"

I am using a virgin devkit44b_v120beta and new CCS PCM compiler I bought.

Heres the fun part.
If I load demo1/*.hex, they all three work with no garbage!
(thus, its my compiling that is wrong somehow).

My compiler is: CCS PCM version V4.005
I have it integrated into MPLAB v7.41
About MPLAB says:  Suite_CCSPic version 1.14.0.0 uncertified.
Compile options: +FM +LN +T +A +M -Z +Y=9 +EA
Build options:      +DF +LN +T -A +M -Z +Y=9 +EA -EW

Any help greatly appreciated!

Hey,

I need a non-demo compiler.
CCS= USD125.00
Htech= USD1k  ouch!
SDCC= free if it really works???
MicroC= USD250.00

I am cheap (um frugal). I got SDCC to compile under Windoz for PIC16F877A, but my question is:
has anyone gotten SDCC to actually load and RUN on a modtronix board??

Its not that I'm lazy, just wondering how many weeks it will take vs $125.00 for CCS...

Thanks for any help.

MicroX Modules and SBC Boards / how to create a counter on a SBC44B
« on: July 13, 2006, 07:33:34 PM »
I need help creating a counter.

I modified the A0_A1_A2 case of demo_ht1.c to show the count. I thought Timer1 was unused, so I use T1CON= 0x03; and put a 0-5v sq wave on pin RC0. Then I read TMR1H/L.

My problem is:    My counter seems to cause the ^ (up) button to falsely trigger. I cant figure out how they are coupled......

My question is:  Am I going about this the right way????? Are there more register settings like I/O/IO that I am maybe forgetting??

Thanks for creating a nice product.
Any help appreciated.
