SBC44U and PIC18F4553
« on: November 30, 2007, 04:47:32 PM »
Hi Modtronix team.

I recently purchased a SBC44U board for a curstom data acquisition project and it works like a charm. By the way, I now need a more precise A/D converter than the 10-bit of the 18F4550 built-in. I found on the microchip website the 18F4553, pin compatible with the 18F4550, which looks similar to the 18F4550 but with a nice 12-bit A/D converter.

Why not selling a new SBC board with that chip instead of the 18F4550 ? Price gap between 18F4550 and 18F4553 is only 40 cts.

Dunno if that's possible, but perhaps I can ask for a "special order" : An SBC44U with a 18F4553 built in :)

Thank you for your hard work !

Thanks for suggestion! Want to bring out some new versions of SBC44UC. Will order some sample PIC18F4553 chips, and assembled some prototypes. Will let you know when they are done if you want to order one. Also want to release a "low cost" version of the SBC44UC without the external power circuitry.
